# How this index is built

Every field came off the vendor's own page, and the source URL and read date travel with each record. No ratings, no editor's picks, no paid placement, no affiliate links.

Sorting: cheapest published entry price first, then free-to-start, then vendors publishing no price, then anything no longer operating. Ties break alphabetically.

Inclusion rules:
- Dedicated AI visibility tools: The product is sold on its own, and AI answer tracking is the whole product.
- SEO suites with AI search tracking: AI tracking ships as a module inside a platform that sold something else first.
- Free AI visibility checkers: The whole product runs free with no paid tier behind it.
- AI visibility tools you can use free: The vendor publishes a free tier or a free one-off audit. Time-limited trials do not count.
- AI visibility tools under $100 a month: Published entry plan is above 0 and below 100 per month in the currency the vendor itself publishes. Figures are not converted between currencies, because a converted price matches no source page.
- Enterprise AI visibility platforms: No pricing is published anywhere on the vendor's own site.
