# What AI visibility tools actually cost

Twelve vendors publish an entry price, running from $19 to $398 a month. Twelve more publish nothing at all. Here is the real spread, read off each vendor's own pricing page.

Pricing in this category is unusually hard to compare, and not by accident. Twelve of the twenty-six operating tools publish an entry price on their own site. The other twelve publish nothing at all and quote after a demo call.

Here is what the twelve who do publish are asking, cheapest first. Every figure came off the vendor's own pricing page on 4 August 2026, and every one is linked from its entry in the index.

## The published prices

- MaxAEO, $19 a month, Starter
- Rankscale, $20 a month, Essentials
- Otterly.AI, $29 a month, Lite
- Knowatoa, $59 a month, Starter
- ZipTie, $69 a month, Basic
- Waikay, $69.95 a month, Small Teams
- Writesonic, $79 a month, Starter
- LLMrefs, $79 a month, All in One
- Profound, $99 a month, Starter
- Surfer AI Tracker, $158 a month, AI Search Analytics
- Semrush AI Visibility, $165.17 a month, Starter
- Ahrefs Brand Radar, $398 a month, Select Platforms

That is a twenty-fold spread between the cheapest and the most expensive entry plan, which should tell you immediately that these are not all the same product.

## The entry price is not the price

Read the plan names, not just the numbers. The cheap end of this market is usually one engine and a small prompt allowance, and the engine count is the thing that moves the price.

Profound is the clearest example. Its $99 Starter plan tracks ChatGPT only and caps you at 50 prompts. Growth tracks three engines. Enterprise tracks up to nine. So the headline figure and the thing you probably want are two different plans, and comparing Profound's $99 against a competitor's all-inclusive $69 is comparing nothing at all.

This is why the index records the entry plan name next to the entry price, and why every engine list is recorded separately from the price. The engine count is usually the real unit of pricing in this category.

## The twelve who publish nothing

Peec AI, Scrunch AI, Evertune, Brandlight, SE Ranking AI Toolkit, XFunnel, Conductor, Daydream, Nightwatch, seoClarity, BrightEdge and Am I On AI publish no price on their own sites.

That is not automatically a red flag. Most of them sell to enterprise marketing teams where the quote genuinely does depend on brand count, prompt volume and seats. But it does mean you cannot budget for them without a call, and it means any published list that assigns them a price is guessing.

This index says "no published price" instead, because that is the checkable fact.

## Start with the free ones

Nine of the operating tools can be used without paying: AthenaHQ, Knowatoa, SE Ranking AI Toolkit, HubSpot AI Search Grader, LLMrefs, Daydream, Waikay, Am I On AI and MaxAEO. Some of those are a standing free tier, some are a free one-off check. Trials that expire are not counted.

Run two or three of them against your own brand before you pay anyone. The output will tell you more about whether you have a visibility problem worth spending on than any vendor demo will.

## Check the dates

Prices in this category move fast. Every figure above carries the date it was read on the entry it came from, and the source URL is one click away. If a number here disagrees with what the vendor is showing you today, trust the vendor and send a correction.

## Frequently asked questions

**What is the cheapest AI visibility tool?**

MaxAEO publishes the lowest entry price at $19 a month on its Starter plan, followed by Rankscale at $20 and Otterly.AI at $29. All three prices were read from the vendor's own pricing page on 4 August 2026.

**Why do so many AI visibility tools hide their pricing?**

Twelve of the operating vendors publish no price anywhere on their own site, including Peec AI, Scrunch AI, Evertune, Brandlight, Conductor, seoClarity and BrightEdge. Most of these sell to enterprise marketing teams where the quote depends on brand count, prompt volume and seat count, so the number is set on a demo call.

**Is there a free AI visibility tool?**

Nine of the operating tools can be used without paying, either through a standing free tier or a free one-off check. Time-limited trials are not counted as free.
